Getting a Tattoo in Tbilisi:

My Studio, My Process, What to Expect

Tbilisi has become one of the most exciting cities in the world for tattoo work — and not just because of the price. The city attracts artists and visitors who care about quality, creativity, and the whole experience around getting tattooed. I've been working here for over 10 years, and I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else.

My name is Ivan Tahine. My studio is in the Chugureti district, at 11/102 Zurab Chavchavadze Street — a five-minute walk from Marjanishvili metro station. If you're visiting Tbilisi and thinking about getting a tattoo, this page covers everything you need to know: my work, my process, how to find me, and how to book.

Why Tbilisi Is Worth It
Tbilisi sits at a crossroads — between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East — and the culture reflects that mix. The Old Town, Rustaveli Avenue, the sulfur bath district in Abanotubani, the wine bars of Fabrika: it's a city that rewards slow travel. Getting a tattoo here is a natural fit for that pace.
Compared to studios in Western Europe or North America, prices in Tbilisi are significantly lower — not because the standard is lower, but because the cost of living is. A full-day session with me runs around $560. That's the same quality of work; a different economic context.

And Tbilisi genuinely has talented artists across many styles. I specialize in dragon tattoos, ornamental and graphic work, feminine designs, lettering, realism, and cover-ups — but the city's scene is broad. You'll find your match here.

Who I Am
I've been tattooing for over 10 years. Before settling in Tbilisi, I worked across Eastern Europe and developed my eye for detailed linework and elaborate original designs. Every tattoo I make is custom — I don't pull flash designs off a wall.
I'm interested in philosophy, architecture, different cultures, and art. So beyond the technical work, sessions tend to involve a real conversation. Free drinks are available. You can play music, watch something, or just talk. I find that clients who are relaxed get better tattoos — the skin is calmer, the sitting is easier.
My studio operates every day from 12:00 to 20:00. I work alone, which means you deal directly with me — the person who will actually be doing your tattoo.

How a Session Works

The first step is simple: send me a message on Instagram, WhatsApp, or Telegram (@tahine). Tell me what you have in mind — the design, the placement, the size, and any reference images you like.
From there:
  1. We talk through the idea. I ask questions, you share references. I want to understand what the tattoo means to you, not just what it looks like.
  2. I create a sketch. Once we agree on the concept, I develop it into a finalized design. You'll see it before we start.
  3. We do the session. Depending on complexity, a session can run 2–8 hours. I take breaks when needed. Comfort matters.
  4. Aftercare. I'll walk you through exactly how to care for the tattoo in the days after.
Think carefully before getting a tattoo — it stays with you for life. I take that seriously, which is why I don't rush consultations and I don't start work until the design feels right to both of us.

Finding the Studio

Address:  11/102 Zurab Chavchavadze Street, Tbilisi, Georgia
The studio is in Chugureti, one of Tbilisi's quieter central neighborhoods — close to the city's main action but without the tourist crowd. The nearest metro station is Marjanishvili (line 1), about a 5-minute walk. If you're coming by taxi, the address is straightforward; most drivers know the street.
I'm open every day: Monday–Sunday, 12:00–20:00.
