If you’ve ever wondered what happens to tattoos after a really long time, here’s one example. Even the best-quality work can fade with the years, and tattoo trends change, too.
This request came from a traveller from Belgium who stopped by our studio after hiking in Georgia. He wanted to bring his beautiful dragon tattoo back to life — on a reasonable budget and with limited time.
The client wanted to keep the size as is and loved the original outline, so we didn’t change the shape or make it bigger. Instead, I reworked it carefully — keeping the same spirit, but adding a modern twist: fine lines, detailed dragon skin, and a fresher, more dynamic look.
Since the tattoo was so old, we could have covered it completely — but we chose to recreate, not hide. I prepared the sketch in advance, and during the session, we discussed and added some final touches together.
